What are you doing to copy and paste layers?

Is this for a new layer for the same variant using the same original image or to a different image?

When I create a layer on one TIFF file and want to copy it to another (different) TIFF file it doesn't work.

I wouldn't necessarily expect it to work for copying (layer) settings between different file types but I certainly expect it to work for the same file types from the same session.

Are you using "Copy Adjustments", loading the Clip Board, eliminating all but the layer edits and then applying that to the target image?

    Or some variation on that?

Copy/Paste only works if the image dimension from the copy source matches that of the paste target. Are yours different ?

Ah! that could be the reason why it doesn't work, thank you Christian, I was not aware of that! 😊
