C4 + GPS
Hi,
I have a Garmin 60CSx and i use BreezeSystems to download my Canon 1d Mark II raw files to the HD and match up the GPS. As I shoot raw, the GPS info is added to the file as a .xmp sidecar. (I do not know any program that will merge the GPS data into a RAW image.
I have been using Adobe Bridge and CS3/4 to edit my photos and resave them as JPG. Doing it this way, saves the GPS data in the resulting JPG file. Great!
I had not used Capture One since v 3.7 a long time ago and before the days of my GPS unit.
I open my file and export to CS4 and do my thing. Needless to say, when I output my photo, the GPS info is no longer there.
Is there a way to either directly have the GPS data save to the resulting 16-bit Tiff file so when i edit it will save it as a JPG file, the GPS data will be there? Or is there another application that I can use to transfer the GPS info to the final edited JPG.
Thanks

Nathaniel,
Based on your setup, my best guess is to use Photoshop CS3/4 as well as Bridge to save the .xmp file containing GPS data into your TIFF or JPEG file.0 -
Or try PhotoMechanic. It is what I use for captioning my raw files - but not with GPS data. I am sure it will merge XMP data into the RAW then most converters (C1 Pro 4 is not fully capable) will keep the IPTC/EXIF data with output TIf & JPG files.
You can geta free trial copy.0 -
Along with other metadata, the GPS data are not supported (and removed) by C1 4.x as deeply explained here: viewtopic.php?f=20&t=6245 0
