No. Output File naming has been enhanced in CO6, but it is not tied to a specific recipe. The structure of output features and tools is basically the same as CO5.

    Hmm...

So I read the FAQ, looked through the forum and support resources, and while you can suggest a "feature" via a support case, it's sort of a one-off request.

I would like to suggest this as a feature, because it seems pretty useful to me, but it would benefit from other users' input.

I see other feature requests in here, but it's not a real formal thing like User Voice or some other external voting / product management product (I do that sort of thing, it's hard for me not to want to solicit and gather input).

Maybe Drew can note it down or something while I put it in as a feature request...

    Hi there,
I usually name things with a hint of what recipe I used so I can look at the file name and know if the file is the right size or quality for the client.

    Good idea.
While I am not a "pro" and currently use Express, I tend to do the same thing. I add things like "post" to those I resize to 800 pixels wide & post on the web for sharing, and those I print get "4x6", "5x7", or "8x10" attached to the name. Others I play with might get "for HDR" attached, for example.

I got a reply on this one from the Support Staff at Phase One. It is supported, it just wasn't clear to me with the way the tool was named, and because I have been on C1 v5 Pro for only a very very short time. It may be slightly different in C1 v6 too (I can't verify yet).

Anyhow, in C1 v5 Pro, in the Processing area, you will basically ignore the Job Name field in the Output Naming panel.

Instead, put your File Name rule or convention you'd like to use in the "Sub Name" field you see in the Advanced Tab of the Process Recipe definition (not available in C1 v5 non-Pro, dirt level edition).

Now, go to the Output File Name tool and select "Whatever and Sub Name" from the drop down menu, and it should be set up properly. Be sure to add Sub Names to all your recipes!

You should then see your file name example update accordingly in the Output Naming panel.

From the reply I got, it sounded like this feature was modified to be slightly more flexible in C1 v6 Pro, but since I don't have my upgrade license key yet from Phase One, I have not tried that out. But for the most part it's the same.

Put the name you want to associate with the recipe in the Sub Name field, and go from there. If I read it right, the change appears to be that you can place the Sub Name anywhere you'd like in the filename (as opposed to the end of the file name I suppose).

OK, just thought I'd update this!
