A copy from the CO 4.6.1 release notes, page 4 under Tethered camera support:

Additionally Capture One 4.6.1 PRO has tethered support for the following cameras:
Canon: 1Ds Mark III, 1D Mark III, 1D Mark II N, 1Ds Mark II, 1D Mark II,
    5D, 40D, 30D, 20D, 450D/Rebel XSi, 400D/Rebel XTi, 350D/Rebel XT, 1000D

I could not find the 10D in the list. That explains it. You could use the workaround route with EOS Utility and CO 4's hot folder function. You can find several discussions here on the forum about that workaround.

The 10D is not supported because Canon has dropped tethered support for it in their SDK. SDK ar the tools that that companies like Canon and Nikon sell so that other software can interface with their products. Other cameras not included in the current SDK are the 1D and 1Ds (original). Canon has been relatively good about continuing camera support for legacy camera compared to say Nikon. This is why Capture One only offers support for relatively new Nikon cameras.
