setting synchronisation
hello,
I have made a catalog with sessions imported in.
I am very surprised to see the settings of photos are not synchronised between catlog and imported sessions.
to be more clear:
when I modify the adjustment of a photographie in the session, I believed that this setting will be seen in the catalog and in reverse when I made the adjustment in the catalog. but it is mot the case.
in addition synchronisation is not either don on variant
it is a pitty because one interrest of the session is to be able to archive all the work including settings, while catalog enable vitualisation to find and manage aphoto within many sessions.
how to obtain this behaviour?
regards

When you are importing session into catalog there is only 1 time sync, afterwards images and setting in session leave their separate life.
Why not just to import everything(include originals) in catalog and use it afterwards as container where all settings are stored, in this way you can share it across, and it will work like a charm.
And original session may be just dropped, and wiped out from your drive.
There is no way to set behaviour that you describing in current version of C1, and it just do not make sense when converted from session to catalog0 -
Hello,
thank you for your advices.
I tried to create a catlog as you sugest, but unfortunatly as I use others editing program, I need to keep the directory structure I defined before.
In the catalog the directory for the original do not follow the structure of the originals directory.
Notice that I do not know why but I do not succed succed to export session as a catalog (File->Export As Catalog...) the command is not active in the"File" menu.
It is the reason why I choose the session expecting it would be possible to synchronise setting both in main catalog and sessions 😭 .
I can suggest as an improvement for a future version, to add this possibility may be with the choice (check box) to enable automatic synchronisation or not.

unfortunatly regarding the adjustment, catalog imported in a main catalog seem to have the same behavior as session.
I just do a trial with a catalog (Include original) imported in a main catalog and when I do an adjustment into one of these catalog the other catalog is not synchronise with adjustment .
I do not understand the idea of the imported catalog. It will be a smart idea if adjustement could be maintened synchronised between both main and imported catalog. But if not it could be dangerous because
- you could archive the imported catalog without the last adjustments
-You are able to make an adjustment and not see it in the main catalog
what is wrong in my understanding?

The idea of imported catalog is a way to settle data from multiple catalogs and sessions into a single place. This optiion is so handy when you creating archives from past shots. So again import is one way process. Sync about import as a merge process not a sync process.
And there is no syncing implemented in C1.0
