How to stop Capture 8 from trying to ingest automatically?
I do NOT want Capture One to ingest my cards but the dialog keeps popping up when inserting a card despite the fact that I checkout the "Open Importer when mounting…†. I am on Yosemite 10.10.5. What else needs to be done?
Thank you
Thank you

Open "Image Capture" in the "DEVICES" column, down at the bottom there is is a little (really little) box with either an up or down triangle, when the "triangle" is down, you can select what application open when the device is selected. Select "No application". You might have to put a CF/SD card in and select that device first for the option to appear.

Thank you, it worked. I did this a few times a while ago and forgot about it. It seems that Capture One resets it at every update. 0 -

I think it's unlikely that C1 resets it. That has never happened to me, since version 4. But it may well be that updates to OS X reset it - it is, after all, a setting at the level of the operating system, not the app.

I spoke too fast, it keeps resetting it to capture one. I tried everything, rebooting, etc... 0 -
Do you use multiple cards? You will need to do it for each storage device separately, one by one. Even if they are all the same size, type and manufacturer. And it can be necessary after formatting again. A Mac OS X feature.

You obviously misspelled and meant "Bug".

I'm not calling it a bug. It works exactly as it is meant to do, I'd say. 😊
Many people like it. And it works fine when you
- use different cards for different purposes
- set the right application for each card
- always use the same application for that card
- don't format your card to erase it
So it depends on the WOW if one likes it the way it is or not. But I'd like to have more, better and easier control over it. Like a global 'off' (love my Linux), acting on file types found (movie / video / audio), letting me choose an app from a list of favorites per file type (Image Capture / Finder / CO / PS/ Affinity P. for photography, Finder / Audacity / GarageBand / Ableton Live for audio, etc.), global settings per storage media type, and some more. But that's up to Apple.
