c1 speed with SSD for tethered capture

Presumably the answer to that will depend on the communication speed of the disk you are currently capturing to, what the camera is capable of and then the specification of the SSD you choose - the write speeds and read speeds vary quite a lot in theory.

However one would normally expect a SSD to offer improved performance compared to a typical HDD. Probably.

Tethered capture won't see a huge amount much improvement, that's really up to the camera's buffer and the connection speed of the tether. SSDs will improve the overall speed of read/write and output of the files, in my experience. The computer itself will also feel dramatically faster (in my case, almost 4x faster!).
