I can't reproduce that as I have only one iOS device <grin> but are you using the same Apple ID for both devices?

Yes I am using the same account on both devices and both are running the latest IOS and the same version of Capture Pilot.

    Cheers

I think that this is a feature of the iTunes store.
If you click buy it will tell you that you have already bought it. This happens when there is a different app for iPad and iPhone.

BTW: I thought that CapturePilot was free. It was when I downloaded before Christmas.

I see what you mean, that is indeed the case with generic apps (I know from experience), but I'm not completely sure the itunes store is involved in in-app purchases.

Could someone from Phaseone please chime in and see if this is indeed the case, or advice me on what can be done to avoid me spending an additional €11,99 ?

    cheers,

Contact Phase One directly in a support case. Sometimes, support staff chime in, but a support case gives you a logged and direct entry.

It still is a free app. However, the in-app purchase for camera control is not.

    Clarification:

Capture Pilot is a free application, however the additional "Camera Control" feature is a in-app purchase.

This happens when there is a different app for iPad and iPhone.

The CapturePilot is a app for BOTH iPhone and iPad, you can see this in how it list it in iTunes when you connect your device. There is apps which is iPad only or iPhone only. But this is not the case with Capture Pilot.

A while ago I purchased the in-app extension for Capture Pilot (on my iPad). This really works like a charm. Today I wanted to use it on my iPhone too (since the iPad was charging it's battery), to my surprise I couldn't find it on my iPhone, well in a way I could, but then I'd have to buy it again . . . . .

The solution would have been simple; if you have your devices syncing to iCloud then it would have been automatically transferred. If you only sync to computer, then you must use the "Transfer purchases from ...." in the file menu of iTunes when you have your iPad connected. When you connect your iPhone the next time it would have been transferred to the iPhone.

Hope I have help with clarifying (and not confusing further 😄 )

You can't pay for an in-app purchase twice using the same apple ID. When you attempt to do so, it will inform you that you will get it for free. You can also tap the restore purchase button. It will allow you to restore a previous in-app purchase on the phone (also free of course).

Hi Mikkel, thanks for your reply ,

that's what I thought too, so I proceded after I was informed that I already bought it on my iPad.
Today to my surprise I received a receipt from the iTunes store that my credit card was charged for another €11,99

I'll re-open my support case with PO support an ad will include screenshots of both my purchases.
To be honest I have no clue what caused this.

    cheers,
    Ronald

Update, as suggested by PO support I'll be contacting Apple Support on this.

Just like Mikkel said, this should not be possible as long as it is the same account.
However just like the Support dept said, we have no control over iTunes accounts and the charging process so you must contact Apple about this.
