Trying pro problems launching
I'm using C1 LE or express for some time now and still like a lot. However want to try 6 pro because of the perspective control.
I downloaded 6 (only have a licence for 5) and installed it. When starting C1 it starts in express mode. When I start the 30 days try mode for pro it states I have to reboot C1 in pro mode. But when I clck okey it just shuts C1 and nothing else happens..
Than I start it myself and there is the express mode again..
Anyone familiar with this and having ideas how to get to pro mode?
I'm using a macbook air (old model) with version 10.6.8.
Thanks!!

No one has an answer??
I'm planning to buy the C1 pro licence but don't want to not be able to use it because I can't open it.0 -
Your original post is a bit confusing to me but that may be related to the cause of the issue/problem.
In general, when you install Capture One and start it for the first time, you get a welcome screen. Here you can select trial (Express or Pro), DB mode (neglect if you do not have a Phase One back) or activate is you have a license key. As long as you select 'trial' the welcome screen will return each time you start Capture One.
If you have selected DB mode or activate, and activated it with your key, you can only revert to the welcome screen when you deactivate the program from the License dialog (Capture One menu).
So far for theory.
From your post I read that you had a CO 5 running, activated with a CO 5-valid key. However, it seems that this key also validates for CO Express 6. That is unusual but possible. Next, you should be able to revert to the welcome screen to start a trial mode. Did you deactivate from the license dialog? If this does not help, deactivate from the Phase One website (login, select your account and go to license management).
If this does not help, contact Phase One support.0 -
Hi Paul,
Thank you for the reply.
The problem isn't getting the welcome screen. I un installed C1 5 from my computer (the macbook isn't my main photo computer so there's no problem in loosing some info or pictures)
Than I installed C1 6 and got the welcome screen. However behind the screen capture one is started. So when I choose the C one pro 30 days trail a pop up appears saying I need to restart the program in C one pro mode.
When I click okey the program shuts down, but does not start again (with I would expect).
After waiting some time I start the program again, and it starts in C1 (non pro).
So I can try the C1 6 mode, but am not able to try the C1 6 pro version.0 -
Sounds like there is a permissions issue on your Mac, not allowing access to the proper directories to overwrite the run mode.
Try renaming the Application itself to disassociate it with the permissions conflict.0 -
I was having the same problem as the OP. I had renamed the v5 app in Applications, but still had the problem. After following the most recent poster's suggestion, renaming the v6 app, the problem was solved.
