Please find the answer to an earlier/similar post in the Capture One 6/Mac forum, from Phase One support staff, here

As far as I know there is no workaround fix for this with your eMac.

Tip: although CO Pro 4.5 is the last officially supported version for PowerPC Mac, you could experiment with later 4.x releases.

UPDATE, i have found a fix for this problem while trying to fix a chashing problem, i used the steps outlines in viewtopic.php?p=26161#p26161,
    remove .col and .col45 files
    remove com.phaseone.captureone.plist from ~ / Library / Preferences
remove Capture One.app from Applications folder and re-install
limit RAM to 2 GB (temporarily)
check requirements (for example Intel Mac, 10.5.5, see release notes for latests requirements)
check version CO 4, download latest
empty batch queue from ~ / Library / Application Support / Capture One / Batch Queue
remove recipes from ~ / Library / Application Support / Capture One / Recipes
disconnect camera (tethering) from computer before starting CO4.x

now advanced color editor works exactly how it should

Good to hear you're up and running again with CO 4.x and thanks for reporting back.
