Buttons that don't do anything - missing lens in database

I've noticed a variety of functions that do nothing in capture one. Is this normal?

Specifically speaking of chromatic aberration, diffraction correction, and the purple fringing slider.

I think I saw that the CA checkbox added a small amount of CA once. Other than that it appears to do nothing.

Also, the Sigma 12-24mm ART is missing from the lens database, is there a way to request that a lens be added or should I switch back to paying my monthly tithes to adobe only?

  The CA slider will remove CA, but generally speaking it is one of the things that only shows its effect when you look at the image at 100% zoom, and doesn't show up well, if at all, on a zoom-to-fit preview. (Noise reduction similarly needs to be seen at 100% to judge the effect.) If you find an image from a lens that does actually suffer from CA, try zooming in to 100%, looking at a part of the image near the edge (where the CA will be worst) and see the effect of moving the slider.
