Sync keywords/ratings/labels between Media Pro catalogues
Hi folks,
I've been a user since the iView days and now am struggling with a little hack I used to use.
I supply medim sized JPGs and an Media Pro (then iView or Expression) catalogue for creatives or clients to make selects.
I convert all my RAWs to DNG and build a catalogue of thoese. So two catalogues, one RAW, one low res'.
Client/creatives would keyword/rate/label the JPGs then I would use a nifty little app called iView Sync by Smackie software... http://www.smackie.org/notes/page/5/ to sync this information to my RAW catalogue.
It's not working under Media Pro and the developer has stopped updating the software. So, any tips on syncing between Media Pro catalogues?
Cheers
Mark

Hello Mark,
When it's a script (i could not find the "iView Sync" app you mentioned) you probably can change so it yourself so it can work also with MP:
1. You can find all scripts in MediaPro. Open the menu item Scripts / Tools / Reveal Scripts Folder
2. Open the script in an editor and find the line with "CreateObject". Replace the word "iView" by "MediaPro"
3. Save it (or a copy) in the same directory where you found it
An alternative is to generate a temporarily 'project' catalog and synchronise the annotations:
1. Put the jpg's (rated by clients/creatives) plus their original RAW's in a new MP catalog
2. Select all images, go to the menuitem Scripts / Annotate / Copy from items with same name
Please test it thoroughly on testimages first!
