How Delete a File When Using a Session Album
When I am using a session album and have one image selected and press the delete key, I receive a message about only removing the image from the album. How do I easily delete (ie. move to the trash folder) an image when I am using a session album? (If I have the proper system folder selected instead of the album, the action I want occurs: press delete and the image is moved to the Trash folder.)

The deleted files are placed in the Session Trash Folder, where they can be deleted or retrieved. You can empty the Session Trash folder by selecting File>Empty Session Trash. 0 -

This is true IF you are NOT selecting the image from a session album. The issue is that I do usually use a session album and then when I try to delete an image it is NOT moved to the Trash folder, instead it is just not shown in the album. So how do I have Capture One move an image to the trash folder when I select the picture in a session album and then "delete" it?0 -

An album is a virtual collection so the image (or variant of an image) may appear in multiple albums. Thus deleting directly may be undesirable.
On the other hand a Smart Album is a search and so considered more fluid and deletion to trash is allowed. So if you work in a smart album you can do what you want.
Going back the question for a "normal" album, one option would be to use the "Show in Library" (or "Show in Explorer" if you are comfortable with using that route) options and delete from there. However if at some point you re-read and refresh the Album the files in the Trash can appear in the browser even though they are in Trash. In effect they were not deleted from the (virtual) Album, just moved to the trash folder ready for deletion.
HTH.
