can not change activation

    Classic Mac permissions issue.
    Fix the problem through Disk Utility and by contacting Apple for help.
    Or... circumvent the problem by deactivating through the License window (Capture One>License>Stop Running DB). Then close the application, rename the actual app in your App folder to something like 'Capture One 8' before relaunching it.

    What Drew is referring to is that when you can start CO8, go to the Capture One menu, and select License. In the dialog that opens, deactivate DB and restart. This should bring up the welcome screen that allows you to select the Pro trial.

    just rename the app and kill the shortcut......

    I learned the hard way that renaming C1 always kills the activation when I tried to be smart and put 7 & 8 in Applications directory together.

    You may still need to go the the My Pages on Phase One site and reset activations for that license code to get the seat allocation back.
