Need help importing files into my C1 catalog
Last year when, I came over to C1 from LR, I did not realize the three files did not make the transfer. Today while trying to show a friend an image from one of the 3 files I realized that, while they still exist in my Apple Pictures Folder (on the same drive as my C1 catalogs), they never made it into C1. The 3 missing files contain about 100 images. I have C1 catalog structure that I am comfortable with, it somewhat resembles my original LR file structure. I have a catalog named “Capture One initial†(these are the files that came over in the initial transition, a second catalog named Capture One 2017 (these are the images that I imported 2017 subsequent to the initial import, and Capture One 2018 (these are the images that I imported after January 1, 2018. My goal is to import the 3 missing files into my "C1 initial" catalog.
When it comes to importing images into C1, I am a dinosaur and a first-class klutz. The last time I tried this, I screwed things up so badly the I had to get a guy from C1 tech support to clean-up the mess that I created. The 3 files that I want to get into C1 are 17/06/17, 17/06/18, and 17/06/19. I need explicit “push here dummy†instructions.
Thank you in advance.

Firstly, I assume that the "3 files that I want to get into C1" are in fact three folders with image files in them?
Assuming you just want to get your images in C1, try the following:
1. Open the import dialogue, which is the arrow pointing down icon at the top left of your C1 screen
2. Click on the "import from" source drop down menu and navigate to the first of your folders. (It might be worth ticking Include subfolders and Exclude duplicates.)
3. Make sure "Import to" has "current location" selected. This will bring the images into C1 without duplicating them.
4. Add any copyright details you wish to the import dialogue.
5. When you and C1 are ready, click "Import all" in the bottom right of your screen.
6. Do the same for your other two folders.
This should bring the original files into C1 and create previews, etc. I don't believe you will get any of your LR edits, unless you stored these in sidecar files when you were using LR.0 -
Thank you for your suggestion. As soon as I build-up my courage, I am going to try it.
Wrt your question regarding the image files, yes they are definitely there. I opened Pictures and I can see all of .CR2 and .xmp listings and I can successfully open them in CS6. The three folders are only missing from C1.0 -
It worked, all is well!! 0 -
