Running latest version of Capture One (11.0.1.40) on latest macOS (10.13.3).

The problem: using "Original Filename" in the renaming formula does NOT work - NOTHING comes in the output filename for that field. Hence the output file copied to the target folder has no file type extension and is not seen in Capture One nor recognized by the OS.

If I use "Image Name" then the filename appears in the output file but without the extension (NEF).

    Is this a known bug?

For now I manually renamed the copied files by appending ".NEF" (well, ..with a little script).

Of course that only works if I know the extension and they are all the same. Could have movies and JPGs also. Need a better solution for the long term ... ideally fix the bug!

Two things I think are worth mentioning.

There is a problem that has been discussed a few times recent;ly so full details can be found in other threads, if you have an extra "." on you chosen file naming convention. Avoid that and all should be well. Best try it as a test to ensure there is no other issue.

Secondly, this being a user to user forum, you may want to consider creating a Support Case with a view to making you observations clear to Phase with a formal record of the problem you have found. That will very likely influence several statistics in their operations management system.

Thanks ... I actually don't have any periods added to the renaming formula, but one of the elements (datetimestamp) contains periods between hours & minutes and minutes & seconds, if that matters!?

I will try to see if I can contact Phase One directly to report the issue.

EDIT: I submitted a bug report, case # 282043. Will see how it goes!

It doesn't matter where the period comes from. Odd though for a time stamp. I would normally expect a colon. That would be likely be a useful observation for the support people.

Support Cases can be logged here

Scroll down for the Tech Support window.

This is also accessible via the Help Menu.

I find it easier to remember this (which is presumably updated if things change) than a URL. (Although Google also finds the link pretty quickly as a further fallback.)

OK, you are right - and support confirmed the issue in the current release.
I was therefore able to resolve by changing the renaming formula to use the desired field (hours, minutes, seconds) individully (with "-" as separator) instead of using Time ("HH:MM:SS"), and also need to use Image Name instead of File Name.

    Thnx!
