When I move a session from a laptop over to my desktop C1 seems to duplicate my session file and add a 1 to the file name. Which one to use? Why is this doing this?

As far as I can tell, if you open a session file created with Capture One 5.x in Capture One 6.x, the newer version of C1 backs up the session file. The backup has a " 1" appended to its name. If you check the file modification times, the session file ending with " 1" should be the older of the two. Open the newer one and things will probably be as you expect.

They are both the latest versions of 6.

How can I go back and run 3.7.4 DB to process off some old files. I tried to open my old 3.7.4 Pro but it tells me my serial number is no longer valid. Thanks! When I go back to the archive and download the DB version is crashes when I start the installer.

Trying 4.8.3 download but of course it's 194 MB because all 3 apps are rolled into one instead of the 47 MB for 3.7.4 DB.

We shall see what happens in 40 minutes. Woo hoo.

You need CO 3.7.9 DB for Leopard compatibility. You can download it from the software archive.

3.7.9 didn't work either. I finally got customer service in Asia to give me an un-upgradeable serial number.

    Brilliant system.

From CO 4 onwards, you do not need a serial number anymore for DB mode. Hence, a not-upgradable s/n.

Tried to open in DB but it would not open. Once your old product keys have been wipe out by Phase the software will tell you your trial period has ended and you must activate your license. Tried it in 3.7.7 and 3.7.9.

I am very curious into the legal ramifications in the denying my access to my old files.

You did not get DB (3.7.x DB I assume) running or you could not open an old session in DB?
