You probably have the OpenCL stuff turned on. Updating your video card driver may help. To test if this is the problem turn of OpenCL in preferences. 0 -
I have Use OpenCL = Never in preferences. I have latest video drivers for Radeon. 0 -
You can try to run the disable script in the link below, in the event the Preference Change didn't solve the issue;

Interesting ... my preference setting was 'never', but reg shows '1'. 🤓
I have changed it to '0' and I will let you know if scrambling comes again.0 -
More data ...
1. scrambled preview is back ☹️
My Preferences for OpenCL is gray. So it seems 0 is 'off', 1 is 'Never'?
but
2. somehow it is related to checkbox 'Hide Distorted Areas'
When I open folder, this check box is on. When scrambeling apears, I can 'uncheck' this box and I get a normal priview. If I check it back, scrambeling is back, too. My 'distortion' check box is unchecked and value is at 0%. I tried to assign 'unchecked' condition for 'Hide dist .. ' but it does not work as I hoped (with copy settings to adjustment clipboard).
Is this of any help*?

A support case with a System Profile and details may help us get to the bottom of it. 0 -
Sorry about stupid question ... but what is System Profile? And what kind of details you are looking for? 0 -

Good question! 😉
Actually, in the Windows Vista/7 world it is called System Information (and System Profiler for Mac). More details here:

If anybody else will have it - this is what helped me:
I must uncheck 'Hide distorted areas', select all pictures and apply settings to all pictures. I must be sure that both 'Hide distorted areas' and 'distortion' are checked during this.
