Gotta wonder about using Capture One if you're a pro
I never thought about this before. I'm a pro and I shoot RAW all time. I have counted on CO for all my conversions.
I needed to install Vista and I chose the 64-bit version.
Whatever the reason, CO doesn't work. I have been without RAW conversion for most of a week. I have tried to get help through e-mails and a case. My problem is still not resolved.
I'll say that I HATE Lightroom, but I'll get more support.
So while I see gripes about CO, most of them seem like personal preferences, my recent experience suggests a different perspective of smaller companies. I need software that works and a company that offers really timely support.

Hi,
please be a bit more specific about your problem eg which version of C1 are you trying to install.
Have you updated Vista 64 to at least service pack 1?
I have C1 running on Vista 64. Initially C1 would not install and I had to wait until a new version of C1 was released. I am currently running 4.8.2.
Where I am having trouble with C1 is that for some reason my Pro version has downgraded itself to C1 standard. I only found this by accident when wondering why my laptop version (Vista 32) had extra features I had not seen on my main PC.

As a user, I can verify that Cone V4 has always run under Vista 64 from it's introduction, and run correctly with all features. It's always good to correctly assign permissions under Vista for x86 programs....this applies to every x86 program, not just COne...be sure to read the PhaseOne FAQs about installing V4to a 64 bit OS if you haven't.
There have been posts here about the Pro version not being installed properly, you might seach this forum for a quick solution.
Again, Vaughn...Paul E. is a wizard at this program...if you post a screen shot of the toolbar with the sliders missing, it would be worth a thousand words. My first thought is that you might have the tool deleted from the pane (right click to reinstall it), the specific tool menu closed (click the arrow to the left to reveal the sliders), or you do not have a workable file selected or active (the sliders will be faint and inactive).0
