settings file

Hi,

I have been saving my settings for my raw files. I have developed them into jpg and now I want to delete the folder from C1 LE. However, I want to keep th eraws as well as the settings for a while. Where is the settings file saved to? I cannot find it; my suspicion is that it is saved in the preview folder as a small file per image with the file extensiom ".c1w".

Is this correct?

If yes, can I store these files in the raw folder?

If no, where is the settings file then?

  Your assumption is right and you can move and save the settings files by choosing all the RAW files in a folder and then go to: Workflow - Selected Capture Settings - Save to Archive.
  
  And of course you use Restore from Archive when importing them again.

  If I make this "Save to Archive", what will happen to future work on RAW files in this collection? Is it saved in the new "Archive" folder or will it continue to be saved in the original "Previews" folder as usual?

  What happens is that a copy of the C1w file which contains the Capture One setting of the individual file moves in to the location you select (default the folder of the RAW files)
  So if you continue working of course the files in capture one will update and you have not lost anything by archiving however the settings files does not correspond any more when the settings files in capture one has the new settings and the archives corresponds to the settings you had at the point of archiving.
