    I can tell you what I do. Some of it might depend on what HDR software you use, and what "look" you are trying to achieve.

    I adjust the white balance, sharpening, and noise reduction of each photo.
    I will sometimes adjust the levels and clarity.
    Never adjust anything in the exposure section, as that what the HDR software will meld, and do not crop.

    Expect to fine tune the resulting hdr photo - brightness, clarity, sharpening, & crop.

    The main reason not to crop before you export to the hdr software is to keep the pixel count exactly the same in each photo so that the alignment part of the hdr software works at its best.

    However, with the auto lens adjustments now in CO 7, there is probably a very small chance that the exported photos are a bit misaligned. You should watch that. I have only done a small amount of hdr recently, and have not noticed a problem.
