Smart Albums Help
Hello,
In editing a specific job, I want to generate a smart album that I am calling "REJECTS." I was hoping to generate the smart album as a subset of the specific job, but when creating one, it defaults to "Session Albums." I can work with that by giving it the client name...
So...
I wanted to populate the smart album automatically by rating the "rejected image" 1 star.
In the criteria of the smart album I set it as:
Match any
Rating: is less than or equal to 1 Star
It is not displaying the image in the job, that I issued a 1 star..
I also attempted to add: color Tag Red
Still not showing up...
I thought that C! would work like Aperture as I rated the images they would automatically move to the smart album.
What am I doing wrong. I realize that C1 will probably be different than Aperture, but still, shouldn't the images show up anyway?

Well, let's do it in the ehhh... Capture One way. 😉
Good question. Understand that Smart Albums are a feature of the session (you always use a session in CO, even if you don't or have CO 6 Express). In the Online Help (Organizing Photos), I read:Smart Albums will only contain images located in Session folders (albums and favorite folders).
I would prefer the phrase "... located in Session Folders, Session Albums, or Session Favorites.
If you don't have embraced the session concept in your workflow or you use Express, just make your current image folder either a session folder (Capture Folder for example), session favorite (my preference but not selective) or session album.0 -
Using PRO...
But still confused....
Would it be too difficult for a "step by step?"
Perhaps all these years I have been using the wrong "concept"..
Let me know if you'd like ME to provide a step by step so you can make a better suggestion.

No problem.
You have a folder with images, you opened it in CO6. In the Library tool, right-click on the folder. Select 'Add to Favorites'. Done.
Now it is a Session Favorite (the folder will show up below that header in the Library) and your smart folder will look for images in that folder and allow them based on your criteria.
Does this help you?0 -
Wowie Zowie...YES..
Thanks Paul!0
