It's dot upgrade and free, if you own Media Pro. From the release notes (http://7fe726ba7ab35f43f237-3edeb37f3cf ... s-bad6.pdf):
    Highlights, version 1.5
This is a service release providing new options and camera support, changes in OS support and bug fixes.
    Improvements
    • Supports rendering of Capture One 8.0.0 to 8.1.1 adjustments
    • The Phase One rendering engine now supports the same cameras as Capture One 8.1.1
    • Introduces a new preference option under General called ‘Maintain item sort whenever possible’ to allow users to keep the old way of handling manual sort.
    OS support
    • Support for 32-bit Operating Systems has been removed
    • Media Pro 1.5 supports Mac OS X 10.9 or 10.10, or Windows 7 (64-bit) or Windows 8 (64-bit) only.
    Bug fixes for Mac/Windows
    • Fixes issues regarding ‘Open With’ context option under Windows and Mac
    • Fixes some issues where a warning called ‘NSGenericException’ would appear
    • Fixes issues regarding reading Metadata for certain cameras
    • Fixes several minor issues
    Bug fixes for Mac
    • Fixes drag-and-drop functionality to exchange annotations with Sessions in Capture One 8

In MP 1.5 I'm using, all the previews appear to be the embedded JPGs in my NEFs - in camera processed JPGs. Am I missing something in MP that enables the Capture One Pro previews (8.n)?

Go to Edit -> Preferences -> Media Rendering... . Uncheck 'Rendering: Use embedded preview (if available)' and pick 'Phase One' in 'Preferred Engine:'.
I'm not sure, if you have to rebuild the previews with Crtl + B.
On my system, using the Phase One rendering takes quite some times, but it generates the prviews with the edits performed in Capture One.

Many thanks Thies, I'll feedback when I've completed this.

so it seems to bee that using Capture One 8.2 sessions works better with Mp 1.5 !
but i have only one catalog in C1 8 and imported to Mp ! and i don't get Mp 1.5 works with C1 8.2 🤓
Mp 1.5 don't nows how to communicate with C1 8.2 and both are from Phase One 🤭

See my reply to your other post.

MP does know how to communicate with CO, it's with sessions in CO. Once you move your CO catalog to MP, you've actually moved. So, don't use the CO catalog any longer, i'm failing to see the sense in continuing using both.

Are you sure that MP can really work with C1 8.2? I'm not because C1 Session create a new folder named "Settings82" and MP don't know anything about this location. And this is the point why Phase One wrote "• Supports rendering of Capture One 8.0.0 to 8.1.1 adjustments"

I'm not sure again, about MP and C1 working together nicely.

For one thing, the colour hierarchy is different. Orange is not in the same position, hierarchically C1 v MP.

Another thing is trying to get C1 to sync between sidecars and NEFs when changing from defaults to accommodate using MP (trial 60 day.) C1 doubles the number of colour tags (number of NEFs * 2) and seems to read/ record tags in the NEFs plus of course the tags in sidecars. The code should not allow this to happen, it's one or the other. Either NEFs or sidecars, not both, which is what is happening to me when I changed from DEFAULT settings to FULL SYNC. ☹️

In an ideal Phase One Capture One Pro world, MP functionality would be coded into C1P - the 2 apps become one. A certain LR killer.

I've gone back to defaults in C1 and I'll give MP 1.5 a swerve, for now, and see how things pan out on this front down the line.

FULL SYNC was not the one thing you have to change.

    The other 2 points are:
    - use xmp sidecar not ITPC embedded data
    - use xmp sidecar not embedded metadata

(sorry I have German version here and can't tell exact wording. There are directly below pulldown Auto Sync XMP data)

No, i'm not sure. However, i was replying to his other statement that Phase One doesn't know how to communicate, while he is using Catalogs. Instructions say Session is the way to go for this integration. I wasn't talking about the reflection of the edits.

Depends on whose ideal world. Not mine. I'd like my cataloging to remain separated from my raw processing. I actually use more than one raw processing engine and wouldn't want to be tied to one only.

    Thies:
Thank you very much for the information—that PDF you refer to is exactly what I was looking for.

By the way, I have been using (iView) Media Pro since 2002 (the first version 1.5) and use it very often as a Digital Asset Manager for cataloguing and renaming (PDFs, fonts, images, scans and screen captures).

    Best regards to all,
    Pierre Geoffrion
