Strange Behaviour?
I've only recently tried Media Pro SE and imported all of my catalogues into it; they are in date order and range from 2001 to 2017 with sub folders for months.
Everything was going alright last night so I left Media Pro SE to finish importing the files while I went to bed.
When I got up this morning Madia Pro SE had crashed and not the folder structure (viewing using the Organize Panel icon) for my files looks very odd.
Where I shold have a folder named 2017-03-24 it now reads (in Media Pro SE) as 20B80D~1
Where I shold have a folder named 2017-03-20 it now reads (in Media Pro SE) as 20819C~1
Etc.
This the same for all of my file structure from 2001 to 2017
Also within the Organize Panel the Catalog Fields 'section' won't drop down although in the Show/Hide Fields everything has been ticked.
It looks like I'm going to have to start again... ?

What platform are you on and where are the files stored?
I've seen this truncation happen on Windows with long path names and/or long filenames.0 -

I'm using Windows 10 and the images (as is the files for Media Pro SE) stored on an internal HDD.
I have an SSD for Windows and applications and two other internal HDD's for all other files.
I've seen this truncation happen on Windows with long path names and/or long filenames.
In the mean time I've deleted this Media Pro SE file and am in the process of creating a new one, more slowly this time as I would suspect that attempting to load all of my images at once was too much for it.
Thanks anyway... 😊0 -
Yeah I've also seen in rare circumstances iView MediaPro (Media Pro's grandfather) choke when handling tasks of over 1 000 items. So you may be right about importing in stages. 0 -
I'm importing in stages, just one year of images at a time.
I'm still getting the following problems...
1) Media Pro not picking up all of the images that have colour tags and star ratings hat I had created in Capture One.
2) Media Pro not showing all of the keywords that I had created in Capture One.
I have (for instance) a photo shoot on a certain day where a lot of the images are showing colour tags and star ratings but others aren't even though they have all been treated the same way in Capture One.0
