Thanks, I hadn't seen that thread before. If I'm reading correctly it seems to indicate that the issues have been dealt with, but I'm using 6.3.3 and it still jumps back to the beginning when when I change the rating from any number of stars back to zero stars (when a rating filter is applied). Am I missing something? It still seems broken to me.

No, the issue has been dealt with. It jumps when you move to the next image, assuming you change the rating of the primary variant, that is the thumbnail with the fat white border. This was the in-between solution to serve both parties: one like it to stay put until you manually reorder, others like it to reorder dynamically.

I just wanted to re-address this issue as it's still an ongoing problem in my workflow. I understand the program designers are trying to cater to different workflows, but all I can tell you is what I'm doing and why I don't think C1 is optimized for what I would consider a pretty normal editing process. Here's what's happening....

    1) I rate images using stars (for example, one star for keepers)
    2) I apply the "one star or higher" search preset.
    3) I go through the one stared images and refine the ratings as I continue to narrow down the selection.

Whenever I have a primary variant selected and I change that photo's star rating (using the numbers on the keyboard) to anything less than the current star rating filter, the primary variant disappears (as it should) but the first photo in the gallery automatically pops up as the new primary variant. I haven't clicked the next image or pressed any other buttons. This all happens automatically as soon as I change the rating. This hardly seems like a resolved issue to me.

I would be happy if (option a) the screen stayed blank until I pressed the right or left keyboard arrows, which would take me to the photo directly after/before the one that just disappeared, or better yet (option b) if the next photo in the gallery just automatically appeared as the new primary variant. Currently that is not what happens.

    I'm using C1 6.4 on OS X 10.7.3 by the way.
