I wonder if you can do this by creating a session template? I haven't tried it myself...

Edited to add: yes, a quick test shows that this works.

    Works for me, too!
    Many thanks,

There is a default filter for no stars.

Do you find the pre-defined Smart album significantly improves your workflow? I can see that it might and I have used it from time to time on larger volume shoots but for most of my needs the filter applications seems just fine. So I have never felt there might be a benefit to making it a default part of the session template. I would be interested to know how you use this in your workflow.

The filter only works on the selected collection while a Smart Album filters across all included collections. There might be some beneficial scenarios for that. 😊

OK but in a session I would just use "All Images" as a collection. Maybe in a really large session that has already been divided into multiple image groups such a smart album would be useful although presumably it would need some additional selection criteria to differentiate it from "All images".

In a session I have not spotted a way to group Albums or Smart Albums into a collection so have assumed that, for a session, the filter option appears to be the fastest way to go. Have I missed a feature somewhere - there are so many features that is entirely possible!
