Geotagging
Hello,
when I geotag my photos before importing them into a C1-session, the exif-data are used and written into the sidecar-files. That means, there are the geodata in the raw- and in the sidecar-file.
If I geotag my photos after importing I tried to geotag the raw-file, but I couldn't get the sidecar-file resynced. I deleted the sidecar-files, but sometimes the gps-data are shown, sometimes not.
It would be possible to write the gps-data into the sidecar-files, but this is not save, for example to use the original-picture in other apps like Aperture.
How can I geotag my pictures after importing in the right way?
Thanks, fiveyears

Here is our Geotagging workflow suggestion;

Although you may not find this workflow safe, we find the editing of a RAW file much more unsafe. As such we recommend you sync to an XMP sidecar file. All other industry standard Professional image software will honor these XMP files.0 -
Maybe, that is true.
But what is the command to show the new metadata: "Reload metadata"?
I always have to close and reopen the session - after this I can read them, but is this the exact way?0 -
With typical IPTC data the "Reload Metadata" action will work.
However the GPS data is a bit different and restarting the software is necessary as outlined in the workflow that was provided; "Simply launch Capture One and see the values in the "Exif-GPS" field under the Metadata field."0
