Copy metadata
In Media Pro, is there a way of copying metadata from one image to another? I have for instance an image of a heron taken on London on the Regents Canal, and it has all that metadata (Heron, London, Regents Canal). Having created a new version of the output image from the raw in Capture One (different crop, cloned out rubbish in the water, etc) could I quickly copy the metadata from the original JPG in Media Pro to the new version?

Of course! Use Metadata Templates.
For instructions, open Help > Media Pro Help.
In the list of topics, look for the Annotating Media section and choose Annotate using metadata templates.
Basic steps:- Select the thumbnail that currently has the metadata
- In Media Info Panel view, click the Autofill icon and select Save Metadata Template...
- In the dialog, verify the desired annotations, click Save and give the template a name
- Select the thumbnail (or multiple thumbnails) to which you want to copy the metadata
- Click the Autofill icon again and this time select the name of the new Metadata Template from the list
Your metadata will be applied to the other image(s).
I'm not sure how CO and Media Pro interact, but typically if I want to make sure my derivative files have the same metadata as the original, I simply export annotations to the original file within Media Pro before creating a derivative file. This avoids the need to create Metadata Templates.0
