Sony A700 support
Hi,
Despite the fact that the Sony A700 is in the camera list, I have many issues with ARW files :
1) The WB reading is wrong (eg it shows 9300K for a 6500K setting in the camera). This bug is known by the team.
2) The sharpening and noise reduction algorithm are acting strangely: sharpening is very strong at high frequencies and low at low frequencies and noise reduction very strong at low frequencies and low at high frequencies. That seems to be linked with the firmware used for C1 calibration: v4 firmware now allow to disable 1st stage noise reduction (in RAW) but C1 is calibrated to deal with Sony RAW noise reduction.
3) The provided profile is slightly reddinsh.
Converting the ARW files in DNG before using C1 is a temporary workaround for points 1 and 2 but then the profile is not good. And I dont like DNG... ☹️
The 1) problem is know at least since 4.6 but there is still no correction ☹️
Any idea when the A700 will be correcly supported ? My demo is outdated and to be honest, I can't buy the full version with these problems but C1 produces the best rendering for A700.

wow, I wasn´t aware of that. Just wondered why ACR shows different
WB values then C1.
For sure they need to sort that out.
