Adding a software option to "Edit With"
Is Capture One Pro 10.1 compatible with Photoshop Elements?
Things used to work fine, but now whenever I use "Edit With" to send a photo to Photoshop so I can then send it to Silver Efex Pro it crashes so I thought I'd download the trial version of PS Elements and see if that might work as an alternative to full PS. When I open "Edit With" PS Elements is not showing up as an option.
How do I get software to show up in "Edit With?" Photoshop and ACDSee seemed to be detected automatically by Capture One without my ever having to do anything to make them appear as "Edit With" options.
I shut down all other programs before uninstalling and reinstalling Nik Collection and then restarted my computer.

Why not just use the B+W inside C1 to produce your images? 0 -
Forget about Photoshop.
In the menu you are looking for Photoshop, click "Browse".
Go to \Program Files\Google\Nik Collection\Silver Effex Pro 2
Choose that one or the 64bit version.
Done.
(Personally I agree with Bobtographer. Capture one is ace for black and white. I only use Nik stuff when I'm after a trashy look.)0 -

I'm fairly new to C1. I love that I can customize the UI, that it speeds up my workflow, and most importantly that I prefer the results to those I was getting with LR. Better results, faster. Results are the most important, but a speedy workflow is an important second.
Silver Efex is/was the only plugin I've been using. B+W isn't that big of a percentage of my shots and since my time is limited I prefer to speed up my workflow and get better results than I can currently achieve with just C1. I'm fully aware that I can achieve near similar results using just C1 or PS for B+W processing, but right now I'm not interested in tackling that learning curve.
I try to use C1 as much as possible, but when it comes to B+W I find that I can get to where I want faster with Silver Efex. Maybe when I'm not so busy with other things in life I'll be able to take the time to figure out how to get similar results without having to leave C1, but right now I'm too busy, I like the results I get with Silver Efex, and if it's not broke....
Oh, wait a minute. It is broke. Guess that's why I'm looking for a fix. Turns out that Silver Efex is only janky with my Tiff files. I can still use it for jpeg, but I'd rather work with Tiff files. Might just move on to Topaz B+W Effects. So far I'm liking the trial.0 -

Thanks for the suggestion. Still crashes when I bypass PS. Pretty much at the point of acceptance that it's time to say goodbye to Silver Efex. If not now, it would be sooner rather than later since Google isn't supporting the software any longer.0 -
In your 'Edit With' box what is your ICC profile set to? 0
