Cmd+Z should but only if you use it immediately after your mistake.
Or you can do a restore from a backup (Time Machine?)

Otherwise I do not see an option.

I used cmd+z immediately after and it had no effect.

    Frustrating.

The equivalent command works on Windows but if your originally applied change involved several change actions you may need to step back through them one at a time because it is likely that that is the way they have been applied to the images as part of a batch process.

Ideally you will know what the 'batch' would do. In practical terms, for a random accidental paste of whatever happened to be in the clipboard at the time, that may not be the case but with a little care it should be possible to step back each step one step at a time.

    HTH.
