Although I strongly belief in the qualities of the new processing engine, only you can convince yourself. Install CO7 next to CO6 (select Keep Both during installation) and open a number of images in 7.

Note that by default images that have been adjusted with CO6 will not use the new engine in 7. New images do.
You can manually select the new engine in CO7 for previously adjusted images with the Upgrade button in the Base Characteristics tool.

    What Paul says:-)

In addition, in 7 you u can set up two variants of the same image, side-by-side with one showing CO6 processing (with your current adjustments) and one showing CO7 processing so that you can evaluate (and appreciate) the improvements and try the new tools

    Enjoy!

    Yair is right 😉

Great tip to use variants for side-by-side comparison. I use it in trainings and demonstrations a lot, in particular for the HDR, Clarity and Noise Reduction tools.

    Paul and Yair,

Thanks for the advice. I agree that doing side by side comparison with no variable except the processing engines is doing good photography and good science. When I get some time I intend to do just that. When I do I will post the results.
