Just as a data point, it's working as expected here on my Win 7 64 bit box.

    Hi Keith

Thanks for confirming it works for you, when you zoom in to a shot, go to sharpening, to the presets and then roll your pointer over each of the standard options, is your zoomed-in image changing to reflect each preset as your pointer crosses it? Mine used to but now it flashes a preview before a split second later turning the image extremely soft, when I move the pointer to another preset it again flashes up the image with the adjustments before going soft again, it's quite annoying as I used to be able to see exactly how the image would look with each of the presets.

    Cheers

    Mat

    Yep, it's doing that here.

Looks like a Mac-only issue, then...

Thanks for commenting both, does indeed look like a mac issue.

How do I get P1 to look at it? Is there somewhere I need to record this or is here enough?

    Thanks!

You'll need to raise a support case, Mat.

Well that was easy to sort out, might be the same for you too badger, under general preferences, OpenCL had defaulted to never, I was told to make sure it was enabled for display, I set it to auto and all is right with the world again!

    Cheers

Mine is set to Auto for both and I still have the same issue. My Mac system is quite old now and isn't supported for OpenCL by CO so maybe that is the problem.

I have same issue with my 2009 iMac. Strangely though the preview does sometimes work as it should but more often than not it doesn't.

I just did a test on a MBP June 2009 and OpenCL Auto, no display issue with preset focus, just half a second to recalculate! normal
    10.9.3 and 7.2.2 😉

You may find it works well initially and then stops working. That's been my experience. Be interesting to hear if it holds up on your system.

I just repeat the test on 40 images and no problem 😕

Well sometimes mine works fine and then it just breaks, only to return again before breaking again. It's now been broken for a couple of days. Maybe it will return for the weekend, who knows.

I had this issue. I switched off open CL for display but let it on for processing. This fixed the problem.

I've tried every combination of settings in the Hardware Acceleration section and this still doesn't work on my system. As I said in a previous post it works occasionally, but 70% of the time I see a brief flicker of the sharpening preview then it goes blurry.
