Can't fire tethered from keyboard, but from camera ok
I'm hoping there's a quick fix to this problem. I have a Canon 5D Mark II and my computer is a 2x2.66 GHz dual-core with OS 10.6.7 and I'm using software 6.2.1. I can shoot tethered when I am at the camera and using the button or the cable release. However, when I try to shoot from the computer using cmd K, the capture button, or the camera icon, nothing happens. Is there something in the camera or the software that I need to enable to get this to work?

Is the Capture button grayed-out or has it normal color; that is does it change color when you connect your camera? 0 -
Neither are grayed out. They change color when I click on them, but no response from the camera. 0 -
Is your camera firmware up to date? 0 -
Only thing I haven't done yet. 2.0.8 needs to go to 2.0.9. I'll let you know... 0 -
Updated the firmware. Restarted everything. Still can't fire from computer/keyboard. Buttons allow me to click on them but no response from camera. Any other suggestions? 0 -
I would refresh the preference files, delete the cache.db, renew the session fle and repair disk permissions. 0 -
Is it on manual focus? Is the lens looking focus? 0 -
@rap_digital: It's on manual focus, but I don't see what that has to do with anything I discussed in this thread.
@Paul_E: going to run though your suggestion with my Mac Support guy. Will let you know how it goes.0
