tether shooting and cf card

Is it possible when shooting tethered to also record the images to the cf card as a backup?

    when using a DSLR and shooting tethered, you only save to the computer, not the card. Actually, it is best to remove the card, as it appears to limit conflicts or confusion (at least with Canon).

    Same for Nikon. Removing the cards makes things more stable.
