Color problem (captures)

I am getting a big shift in color between captures. This has happened on
two different sessions and maybe by chance was when i was using a gel on one of my heads. Is the software trying to correct for the warm or cool gels used?

Note: These shifts in color will happen without any changes to preferences.
I can shoot 3 quick captures and one or two will have a shift in color.

  My experience with Speedos is that they are notoriously unstable regarding color consistancy, especially as their tubes age.

  I used Profoto Compact 600 until I realized that they were inconsistent in both color and power. Most compact strobes built before 2003-2004 are not suited for high end digital captures.
  I use Profoto D4 and so not have any colorshift or inconsistent power any longer. I also use Elinchrom Style RX 600 compact strobes which are very consistent regarding to colortemp.
