Does C1 only use One core ?

Hey,
So I heard a nasty rumor that on-set, when you shoot tethred C1 only uses one core to generate previews.

Is this true? I have two 2011 8 core 2.26 MacPro's and have a chance to buy a 2013 12 core 2.4. But if C1 only uses one core I won't waste my money.

Anybody know the truth?

    In reality only one core is likely necessary to generate a small 1-2MB preview.
    So, while the little birdie you have on set may be clever enough to observe such behavior, it does not mean that it is a rule of the software. Additionally, when it comes to performance you're better off having a system that supports OpenCL as the Graphic Card CPU doesn't need to share with anything else.
