Capture One Pro - Slow to Open

I have downloaded the trial version of C1Pro 12 Sony, running it on the latest iMac with 40 Gb or RAM. It takes 45 secs to a minute to open the software each time - vs an almost immediate splash page with Lightroom. Is this the norm for C112? Are there settings or a configuration I should be checking? I am very interested to moving to C1 Pro Sony, but an very hesitant due to this issue. Any advice (or confirmation that this is normal) is appreciated.

  Are you running with a session or a catalog?
  It should indeed open way quicker than that.
