Workflow in Capture 4
Having spent the last few hours using C4 I have to say the workflow advise, management and move to folder regime is not aimed at working advertising photographers, can somebody reassure me that this retrograde step will not feature in the Pro Version, also beware that selecting the trash option puts the file in the hard drive trash not in a trash file.
The more I use this software the more it appears to be aimed at the keen amateur and has been set up as a competitor to Aperture and Light box rather than as software designed first and foremost to Phase One back users

Keep in mind that this is not the PRO version of the software which is coming later 0 -

Wrong! They said (somewhere here in the forum) that PRO will be an enhanced version of this (LE-) V4. That means there will be additional "pro"-tools and maybe some more folder-options (eg. sessions). But the workflow itself (including failing or complicated keyboard shortcuts and so on...) will remain the same: mouse dominated, slow, less flexible as in V3x ... and a tragic step backwards.

On the other hand there might be a tinily improvement of picture quality. But not if you do output with sharpening disabled! So for PRO-users the piece of brain made software is an effrontery.
But - as we learned during the last weeks - it's useless to discuss about that or just mentioning it. The Beta was just official to let the users give feedback about compatibility with regard to hardware configuration. All the content-related things were ignored. So it's more productive to close this chapter and stay with V3x or search for something new (but I honestly have no idea what it could be).0 -
Too many negative comments. I have downloaded the C1 4, but decide not to install it. 0 -

pmirror, it seems that you tend to neglect the value of your own experience and judgement.
Please be aware that users that do not experience any problem, do not (often) post comments in forums as this. Also note that some of the 'negative comments' are 'manual related': we all have to get used to the new software lacking the comfortable feeling we have with CO3.x.
That said, I do have my wish-list too, but that does not prevent me from giving CO4 a twist and enjoying great output quality and lots of (hidden) features.0 -
Agreed! Never let negative comments put you off installing something like that; it's extremely rare that you damage anything by just trying it; also, it's a Mac, so if you don't like it, it's dead easy to get rid of. 0
