Nikon D7000 6.1.1, and still no tethered capabilities
What is the problem ?
After reading it was supported I found IT IS NOT

I think you would do yourself a much bigger favor just to wait a little longer. I don't have any hard facts to share but a strong feeling it will gonna be alright.
As a note: the release notes which come with each release told me that the D7000 raw is but tethering not (yet) supported. Tethering support in general comes in a later release. Besides that Phase One allows you to test drive it for 30-days before you buy.0 -

D7000 will be supported tethered very soon but mean while I have in the link above provided a workaround fix.0
