import from iVew to CP5
I'm very happy Phase one acquires EM and expect they improve its functionality and design. I always hesitate to switch from iVew to EM as I don't like the icon design of EM.
Anyway, my question is when I try to open selected images from iView to Capture one 5, CP imports all images that is in the same folder. It's so annoying, I need to search the images again in the CP. Is it improve in EM2?
It's not EM issue but why Capture one always creates Cache folder in each folder? I prefer to manage Cache folder in one same folder.
regards,
yossan

In EM2 (SP2) you can choose to "open with Capture One" and it will open that folder in capture one and the image you are on in MS2 will be your primary image in Capture One.
For archiving and for workgroup use, cache in each folder is a preferred option.
With the cheapness of storage today centralize cache is becoming less and less of a need.
However we still have it as a feature request.0 -
Hi,
Rate your images in iView and go Action > Extract Metadata to create xmp side car files. Open them in Capture One and sort by rating.
edit: You can also sync annotations (embed/write the metadata into the raw file) and Capture One will read it. However two issues there:
1. Capture One caches the initial ratings when you first "import" them into the raw converter. If you change the rating outside Capture One, like in xMedia, then Capture One wil ignore the new rating.
2. xMedia only syncs ratings to DNG raw files not proprietary raw formats. xMedia can only sync metadata that the raw file format supports from its manufacturers SDK. Nikon supports XMP including ratings but the Nikon SDK in xMedia has not been updated. Too much info?
If Phase make Capture One 5 a database driven raw converter it could work as you want.
