C1 Doesn't see my GF-1 Files

    Hi Jim,

Your Leica M8 produces DNG files by default, you LR will not change the file. I suggest to check two issues:
    - your version of CO6 and whether it will support your GF-1 files; update to the latest version first
    - import or open a folder with GF-1 raw files that have not been touched by LR or converted to DNG, to start with; with conversion to DNG important information can get lost in the process.

    Tell us what you found.

    Hi Paul-

    Thanks for your speedy response!

I'm using C1 v6.3.3, which seems to be the latest available. According to the FAQ on this site, the DMC-GF1 is a supported camera

I've just shot off a few testers on the camera - imported two sets into LR3, the first copied as RW2 files, the second copied as DNG's. C1 can see the RW2's, but not the DNG's!

So I guess it's something to do with the Copy to DNG - the big question is reversed though: it seems the anomaly is that C1 does recognise some of my DNG's from this camera, because in the majority of cases it does not!

A bit weird, and disappointing as I'm fully signed up to DNG's and have not kept an unconverted RAW file for some years. In fact, I think a number of my M8 files were probably imported using Copy to DNG, but C1 seems to be able to see all of them

Strange... I'd be interested to hear if anyone else has encountered this problem

    Jim
