media pro to manage my files?
I am looking for software that acts like iPhoto on the mac stores photos. I am looking for something I can drop my vector files into media pro, and it copies it to some directory where it stores and organizes my vector files. From what I see in the demo, it just remembers the location from where I imported it from, but if I remove it from that location, it obviously does not know where it is anymore. I know I could make a folder, and put things there, then in media pro, but its much simpler to drag and drop and delete from my desktop once I am done.
I could not finding anything in preferences for media pro, is this a feature or something that can be done with the current version?

Typically, more advanced asset management programs don't move your files unless you want it to, especially at importing.
MP can import files though, to any location you want. There is a host of options, just look at the help file.0 -
I don't think any Dam program keeps track of any images that are moved or deleted outside of the program.
I'm not sure what you mean but if it is what I think you mean, then the closest you can get to that kind of workflow is to do the following.
1-When you have finished with your files then drag and drop your media files from your desktop into media pro.
2-From there transfer them to the folder of your choice using Media Pro and the first transfer option, this will move them to another location and delete them from your desktop in one operation.

Thanks Paul, that does do what I want, but not how I want it to do it.
In OS X, iPhoto does what I talk about. When I drop a picture in iPhoto, it copies it automatically to sub folders where it stores the entire photo library, same with iTunes in how it manages your music (which can be turned off). Is there a way for Media Pro to automatically Copy files and reset paths?
