How to have metadata write to RAW file
I have used tethered shooting and a session folder to capture some photos in RAW with my Sony A7rII. This worked well, I used the IPTC Description field to enter some comments. Copying the .ARW file from the session folder to lightroom - all the metadata is lost. What am I doing wrong? I want the metadata I enter in Capture One to write to the .ARW file itself as embedded IPTC, so that it is available to LightRoom.

I#m not sure but I mean it's not possible.
C1 never change/ manipulate RAW files. All MetaData are always stored in sidecar *.xmp files.0 -

Really? I have always believed C1 has to be forced to export metadata to xmp for selected image(s), using the Metadata tool and Sync.0 -
Metadata is by default written to the catalog database or when working with sessions to settings files that only CO8 can read. Optionally, metadata can be written to XMP files. You have to set this in the preferences. Lightroom can read the metadata from the XMP files. 0 -
That works, thanks. Any way to quickly generate these XMP sidecars after the fact for multiple images concurrently? 0
