Deleting Catalogue
I've tried looking through the knowledge base but couldn't find an answer to this so hope someone here can help. I recently set up Capture one on my laptop and foolishly selected storage inside catalogue. Now my HD is filling up with images and I want to change this and continue to store the catalogues on my computer but the actual file images on external hard drives. Problem is I can't figure out how to do this with the catalogues and images I already have placed on the laptop.
If I can't do that I'd settle for exporting just those images to an external HD and deleting the catalogues from my computer entirely but when I select the catalogues to remove the 'delete' option is greyed out and won't work. Help please!

Yah - you have a problem. I think there was a column on this a few weeks ago and no solution offered.
There is a way about it.. see fatihayoglu's post after this one. What I posted here originally likely works, but is unnecessarily long and complex.0 -
You can certainly move original files out of your catalogue without deleting your actual catalogue.
Open your catalogue, go to the Library tab and folders right at the bottom. There is a plus sign, hit that and add your external hard drive or the actual folder in your external harddrive which should have the pictures. After adding this location, you should be able to see an external drive and catalogue. Then move the images from your catalogue to this new location. That will free up your HD. Thanks for the responses. I can add the new folder to the bottom of the library list but how do I move the images from the old catalogue?

ETA: I think I figured it out. Now that I have moved the images they are showing up in two places, the original catalogue listing and the new folder. I am assuming that means they are now referenced files rather than managed ones. Fingers crossed!0 -

Drag and drop with the mouse. I just tried it, it works.0 -
Drag and drop should work, at least this is how I do every time. So select all the images and drag and drop into the folder. 0 -

I think if the images show in both places you have made a copy, not a move.
When I did this I was able to see the image vanish from the source, and appear in the destination.
I also got a warning that I was moving an image - that part is configurable in preferences.0 -

And yes, that means now they are referenced.0
