Crop tool not really usable in 6.0
I´m testing 6.01 on a win 7 64 bit machine in pro and express mode.
The good message is: Open CL is now available (graca hd 5770, Catalyst 12)
The bad message is: The crop tool isn´t working quite normal,
cos there is a big problem to move the "frame".
Moving the frame is nearly impossible or sometimes for just some mm.
It doesn´t work in both versions (pro and express).
On the other hand, if I release the crop by digits, only the frame is visible,
but not the whole picture. Changing another picture and coming back to the
cropped version resolves the problem.
As I´m working very often with crops, 6.01 is not working for me
and I have still to use 5.0
Any others with the same problem and perhaps there is a solution?

I am running the COP 6.0.1 on the 64-bit Windows 7 with an ATI 5770 based video card. The Open CL option is enabled.
I do not see the problem you described. The crop tool is working for me. Can you give us a step by step recreate scenario? You could also record what you experience with a screen recording program such as the FastStone Capture (30 day trial).
On the other hand, I have discovered some screen redraw issues with Open CL enabled.

This can be a conflict between the given Crop and the Rotation or Keystone applied to the image. Trying to move the frame is not possible if you are trying to move it into a space restricted area of the image. Doublecheck to make sure the edge of the crop isn't hitting a side of the image that is anything other than completely straight.0 -
I´m using now C1 since 4.0 and am familiar with all the features of the crop tool.
The prob is still that I cannot move the cropped frames in some pictures. Today I have tried to move frames, cropped by C1 5.0. Strangely it works with some smaller crops, unfortunately it doesn´t work with wider crops. When I try to move these crops it works for some mm. Then I have to release the mouse, have to click again and it works for some other mm. For me it looks like a memory error. Same effect with or without OpenCL.0 -
Hello I have a slightly different issue:
The crop works but is restricted to an aspect ratio or size, usually I can get full height but never able to adjust width beyond a limit. ☹️
I tried all the selections in the Crop Tool adjustments, and have selected ratio unconstrained.
But sometimes it works normally!
Why?
Many thanks,

This could be a result of the constraint. When you enlarge the crop, one side or corner can hit a side of the image. This can happen in particular when you have also rotated a few degrees to straiten the horizon for example. Move the crop a bit away from the side, and you can continue to enlarge the crop.0 -
