You should find that new shots will automatically use the v9 engine, but existing shots (that is, those that you imported into C1 under v8) retain the v8 engine unless you change them. That may be a good thing because if you upgrade an image you may find that adjustments you had previously made to get it how you wanted it no longer look right. (For instance, the contrast and brightness sliders produce a somewhat different result in v9). You might have to redo some of it. If you have an image how you want it, why mess with it?

You can if you like select a whole bunch of images and upgrade them all in one go to the new engine. Just make your selection, ensure "Edit all selected variants" is selected and hit the button. (You should get a warning message that you are upgrading multiple variants and that you can't undo it. If you are sure you want to do it, hit the button to confirm.)

Thank you. I had loaded all the photos, but not processed.

I didn't know that there is a specific Upgrade button.
Could you please let me know how it's called and where to find that button?

I just opened my C1 8 library in C1 9 and everything works fine. There was no need to upgrade any photos. If I use some sliders that make use of the new engine, it just happens.
Or am I missing anything here?

EDIT: Ok, i found it in Base Characteristics (Basis Merkmale)
