Capture One v12 running too slow

I purchased Capture One a few months ago but I have hardly used it. Compared to Lightroom CC or OnOne Raw 2019 I find CaptureOne extremely sluggish even when working on JPEG files. I am running MacOS 12.14.6. Not sue what the problem is. Any advice would be greatly received, Thanks.

  What computer, with what spec? (I find ON1 rather sluggish compared with C1.)

  Edited to add: and have you experimented with the settings in Preferences for hardware acceleration?

  One reason I changed from LR to Capture One, it is pretty fast in my case. On1 was unbelievable slow - one more reason to move to C1. I recommend to check as Ian posted already and search the hardware acceleration.

  And, contrary to what you might expect, if you find that hardware acceleration is on, see if things are better with it turned off.
