Win7 D3X Nef = view only in CO 5.0
Hi!
Edit: Just found out the same happens in CO 5.0. :O
Original message:
I installed Win7 x64 last night. Now all my Nefs are "view only" in C1 Pro 4.8.3 after reinstallation of C1.
C1 will not let me edit any of the files. By the way, they are from a different HDD than the one Win7 is on, and it was unplugged at the time of installation of Windows.
I´ll try to reinstall C1, but I could really need some suggestions on this.
Trying to make a supprt case, but Phase One´s website is really slow at the moment.
Thanks 😊

Same problem here. It seems that it's not a problem with PhaseOne software, but something with Win7. Also the competitor's software exhibits the same behavior.
It looks like everything works fine in My Documents folder, but if NEFs are on another drive (I have a separated HD for them) they can not be edited by any software.
May be Win7 thinks that these are some system files and has some protection against updates.0 -
i found that the external disk had no write permission for regular users. In Win7 I am working as a user and not as administrator by default. I gave full access to all users for that disk and no there is no problem. 0 -
Sorry for getting back so much later, been busy.
Thanks for the replies. I´ll try checking if there is something with the permissions I have to change. But I work as administrator on this pc, and there has never been a problem before. Maybe Win7 changed something?

Update: I changed permissions for users on the disk in question to include write.
Now C1 can edit the images!
You were right, must be a windows thing. 😊0 -
Although you are an administrator you work with lowered permissions on Win7. Watch out for other problems like this - like not being able to edit hosts file all of a sudden. 0
