Opening version 6 jobs in 7.

I remember reading that jobs created in version 6 would be able to be opened in 7 and the settings would stay intact and be brought over to 7.

What is the correct procedure to get that to happen? I just opened an old job that was completed in version 6 and it loaded but the settings were not kept. I imported it as a catalog in 7.
